Day-by-Day Plan

What you will do each day and where you will visit.

Day 1 - Arrival in Entebbe

Airport pickup, hotel check-in, welcome briefing, and optional sunset walk around Entebbe gardens. Recommended stay: Boma Hotel Entebbe, Papyrus Guest House, or Protea Hotel Entebbe.

Day 2 - Transfer to Lake Mburo

Scenic drive via Equator monument; afternoon/evening game drive in Lake Mburo for zebra, impala, eland, and birding highlights such as Bare-faced Go-away-bird. Recommended stay: Rwakobo Rock, Mburo Safari Lodge, or Mihingo Lodge.

Day 3 - Lake Mburo to Bwindi

Morning nature walk and transfer through Kigezi highlands to Bwindi. Late afternoon rest and short forest-edge walk. Recommended stay: Buhoma Lodge, Mahogany Springs, Gorilla Mist Camp, or Bakiga Lodge.

Day 4 - Gorilla Trekking Day

Early briefing by park rangers, guided gorilla trekking in Bwindi, one hour with a habituated gorilla family, then return for recovery and photo sharing. Species seen can include black-and-white colobus, duikers, and many forest birds. Recommended stay: same Bwindi lodge.

Day 5 - Community and Nature Walk

Cultural visit to local communities/Batwa experience, craft centers, and optional waterfall or forest-edge trail walk for birds such as turacos and sunbirds. Recommended stay: same Bwindi lodge.

Day 6 - Transfer to Queen Elizabeth Area

Drive north toward Queen Elizabeth ecosystem with scenic viewpoints and wildlife sightings en route. Evening check-in and short lodge-area birding. Recommended stay: Elephant Plains Lodge, Buffalo Safari Lodge, or Mweya Safari Lodge.

Day 7 - Kazinga Channel Cruise

Morning/afternoon boat safari on Kazinga Channel for hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffalo, and birds such as African Skimmer, pelicans, and kingfishers. Optional sunset game drive. Recommended stay: same Queen Elizabeth lodge.

Day 8 - Return to Entebbe

Road transfer to Entebbe with lunch and Equator stop. Final airport drop-off or optional overnight in Entebbe depending on flight schedule.
